Owings Mills, MD

GGarrison Forest School's James Center is a "center without walls" and an incubator for innovation for the independent school world. The James Center brings together, for the first time, Garrison Forest’s many curricular and co-curricular programs embracing public purpose. Established in 2008 through an E.E. Ford Foundation Leadership Award, the James Center’s comprehensive approach prepares students to be issue-literate citizens, generative problem-solvers, financially competent individuals, and action-oriented leaders in this interdependent, global society.

The James Center’s four broad, inter-related, and flexible program componentsreflect the School’s core values, historical strengths, current signatureprograms, and emerging innovations:

  • Programs in Science, Engineering, and Public Health through a groundbreaking partnership with Johns Hopkins University
  • Programs in Civic Literacy, Public Policy, and Service.
  • Programs in Financial Literacy and Social Entrepreneurship
