Wilmington Friends
-
QUEST provides leadership
and an administrative structure for Wilmington Friends School’s programs in
global education, diversity, service learning, and environmental stewardship.
In the Quaker tradition, QUEST is a meeting place—physically, programmatically,
intellectually, and spiritually—where ideas, values, and action come together
in a visible and powerful way.
Current programs under the auspices of QUEST
include the “Big Ideas” Speaker Series; the School Year Abroad and American
Field Service international student programs; and QUEST Scholars, which
sponsors students to attend leadership programs including the NAIS Student
Diversity Leadership Conference, the Interfaith Youth Core Conference, and the
Quaker Youth Leadership Conference. The QUEST structure also provides
coordination for all-school and multi-grade service projects, international
cultural study and service learning trips, and diversity initiatives like SEED
(Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) groups. Recent targeted efforts
initiated through QUEST include a student-led audit of the school’s use of
resources, and work toward the school’s participation and leadership in a
regional Green Schools alliance.
